Answers
- Industrial oils usually demulsify. Do not have to cope with combustion by-products. Large reservoirs sometimes used. Change- out intervals can be much longer.
- The ISO Viscosity Grade system, based on centiStoke viscosity measured at 40 Celsius.
- Vane pump, axial piston pump, gear pump.
- Anti-wear, non-foaming, long oxidation life, thermal stability, good filterability, rust-protecting, good demulsibility.
- OILS AND LUBRICANTS Hydraulic Oil 46
- Purity FG AW hydraulic oil.
- Air circulated with the oil can lead to breakdown of the lubricating film on the bearings, and can also shorten the life of the oil
- Spur gears, Bevel gears, Spiral Bevel gears, Helical gears, Herringbone gears, Hypoid gears, Worm gears.
- The American Gear Manufacturers’ Association.
- ISO 220
- That point, as temperature decreases, where the gear cuts a distinct channel in the oil, without it flowing back to the gear.
- Insufficient oil in the gearbox. Oil circulation blocked. Wrong oil in the gearbox. Misalignment of gears. Dust, sawdust etc insulating the gearbox. Design loads, or speeds etc may have been exceeded( in which case a different viscosity may be needed). Too much dirt in the gearbox. Oil has degraded.
